Kerb-IT infiltrerend bandensysteem

Wateroverlast bij hevige regenbuien en de slechte staat van de riolering en wegfundering aan een drukke toegangsweg in gemeente Halderberge waren reden tot groot onderhoud. Het door Struyk Verwo Infra nieuw ontwikkelde Kerb-IT waterinfiltrerend bandensysteem werd in opdracht van gemeente Halderberge en ingenieursbureau Royal HasKoningDHV in pilotvorm toegepast bij de herinrichting van de toegangsweg.
Het Kerb-IT systeem is een samenstelling van drie bestaande producten, te weten een ZOAB band, een bufferband en een betonsteen. Maar dan in een aangepaste vorm. Het systeem is bedacht om verdroging in stedelijk gebied tegen te gaan door kleine regenbuien op te vangen en te infiltreren. Water dat op straat valt, komt dankzij de gaten aan de voorzijde van de band langzaam in het systeem, waar het poreuze beton een waterbuffer wordt. Vervolgens wordt het opgevangen water via het waterinfiltrerende bandensysteem langzaam afgegeven aan groenperken of boom wortels die onder het trottoir liggen. De resultaten van de pilot zijn veelbelovend. De eerste metingen tonen lokale infiltratie aan met een positief effect!
