Het oude zwembad in Wilsele, een deelgemeente van de stad Leuven, was al een tijd uit het straatbeeld verdwenen en moest plaatsmaken voor een nieuw zwembad met een modern dorpsplein.
Ontwerpbureau Omgeving werd ingeschakeld voor het maken van een ontwerp. ‘We wilden een groen dorpshart voor Wilsele maken’, vertelt Koen Moelants. ‘Natuurlijke waterinfiltratie, een groen straatbeeld en ontharden waren belangrijke uitgangspunten in ons ontwerp. Ook moest er ruimte komen voor een verhard plein voor voetgangers en fietsers en waar de kraampjes van de markten en de kermis op konden staan. In onze zoektocht naar waterdoorlatende groenbestrating in grootformaat is een nieuw product geboren: Hydro Lineo XL.’
Met deze halfopen modellen kunnen grasvoegen gecreëerd worden tot wel 7,5 cm breed. Waar er mogelijk verkeer komt, is er gewerkt met het volledig gesloten model. De Hydro Lineo XL is geschikt voor beperkt zwaar verkeer met de juiste ondergrond.
