Over dit project
De nieuwe situatie is zo ontworpen dat het gebruik van de markt multifunctioneel is. Daarmee wordt rekening gehouden met de veranderende behoefte in gebruik. Er is ruimte voor het organiseren van evenementen, ruimte voor parkeren, maar ook ruimte voor meer terras. Daarnaast is het ook toekomstbestendig in klimaatadaptieve zin. Door het afkoppelen van het regenwater van het riool wordt de kans op wateroverlast bij hevige regenval verkleind. Het afkoppelen gebeurt hier door middel van een krattensysteem.
De vergroening en de beleefbaarheid daarvan hebben een grote stap voorwaarts gemaakt. De muren aan de Oirsbekerweg en de Dorpstraat zijn naar beneden gebracht tot zithoogte en het hoogteverschil is opgevangen in een aantrekkelijk en kleurrijk beplante groeneilanden van Solids & Seats.
