Planum boomkrans

Philippe Leemans, architect: ‘Ik werk veel voor scholen en mocht onlangs een speelplaats voor de Zavo campus in Zaventem, België ontwerpen. Ik kreeg de volledige vrijheid, het enige waarmee ik rekening moest houden was dat ik het gevoel van een stadsplein moest creëren met een aanpalende Engelse koer (lichtschacht voorkelderverdieping). Dit werd bereikt door te kiezen voor een tribunevorm. Om toch wat groen toe tevoegen aan het ontwerp zijn er enkele bomen geplaatst. Die bomen hebben de Planum als boomkrans gekregen. Het prettige aan de Planum is dat de elementen eenvoudig te verwerken zijn door het gewicht ervan. Daarnaast is de Planum boomkrans stevig waardoorje er banken op kunt plaatsen en esthetisch is hij mooi. Vergeleken met de gewone boomkrans, heeftdeze boomkrans echt karakter. De opdrachtgever zag de Planum voor het eerst, toen dit deel van het plein af was. De reacties waren erg positief, mede doordat ik de Planum heb kunnen combineren met een lijnversterkende bestrating.’
