Duurzame alternatieven voor de inrichting van de openbare ruimte winnen aan populariteit. Zo ook in de gemeente Enschede. De Molenstraat is een straat die al eeuwen door het centrum van Enschede meandert. Om de straat voor te bereiden op de toekomst, is deze grondig aangepakt. In het ontwerp moest veel ruimte komen voor groen, klimaatadaptieve maatregelen en gebruik van duurzame materialen. Voor de inrichting van de Molenstraat werd daarom heel bewust gekozen voor de CERO (cementloos) uitvoering van Breccia tagenta C en E, met een afmeting van 20x20x8 cm. De Breccia tagenta is een exclusieve, verfijnde betonklinker en de meest duurzame betonstraatsteen als het gaat om kleurintensiteit en structuur. De CERO uitvoering van de Breccia tagenta wordt vervaardigd met een onderbeton van geopolymeer. De toplaag van de Breccia tagenta bestaat uit 100% zorgvuldig geselecteerde natuursteengranulaten in vier korrelgroottes, waardoor het heel duurzaam is en zijn kleurechtheid jarenlang behoudt. De 6.816 vierkante meter aan duurzame klinkers hebben gezorgd voor een C02-reductie van maar liefst 61.118 kilogram.
