Afkoppelen daken Gasthuiswijk
Over dit project
Om meer accent op duurzaamheid te krijgen is de gemeente Leiden met de nieuwe afdeling Duurzame Leefomgeving gestart. Alle beleidsmensen, ontwerpers en architecten die duurzaamheid en openbare ruimte-inrichting in hun portefeuille hebben, zitten nu bij elkaar. Het handboek is uitgebreid met materialen voor klimaatadaptatie en technische oplossingen.
In de Gasthuiswijk komt vooral meer ruimte voor water. Een nieuw watersysteem houdt het waterpeil in de wijk in balans. Regenwater afkomstig van daken en de omliggende verharding wordt via wadibanden afgevoerd naar greppels en opgevangen in open water. Uiteraard is ook in de Gasthuiswijk veel aandacht besteed aan openbaar groen en biodiversiteit. Met parkjes waar kinderen kunnen spelen, fijne ontmoetingsplekken en ruimte voor een potje jeu de boules.
